What a great day with a great turnout for the IWDWarriors program! I think everyone involved had a great day, and Buddy & I had a blast fishing with our warrior Zach. I couldn't help but smile on the ride home as Buddy & I were talking about the day's events. What really struck me was when we took Zach to his first spot, he told me that he'd been freshwater fishing a few times, but never had caught a fish, and he believed that he simply didn't have the patience for fishing... well, it was a completely different story by the end of the day. While his numbers were crazy, he still ended up with 3 redfish, and a couple of black drum caught. He was pretty excited the whole paddle back to the launch that he had caught some great fish. This is why we do this.

Sorry, both my camera and my video camera batteries died on the water yesterday so I have no pictures.

HUGE thank you to all the volunteers. Special thank you to Catina for cooking, to Tony/Kaycee and Craig/Tammy for bringing extra food.

I hope all the heroes had fun - it was a beautiful day.

Holy smokes! Those are two adorable boys and if Gavin asked me what I was doing one more time, I might have taken him home with me - just too cute!

I'd show you the video I took with the GoPro but apparently I'm having a bad learning curve. I guess I had it one while it was in my lap -- it could be a tutorial on how to pedal. ha ha ha!

if only I had a nickel for each time Gavin asked me that during the day, then I'd own several small countries!
